Airkix is a vertical wind tunnel in which controlled airflow, with speeds of up to 150mph, is generated. Experienced skydivers, adrenalin junkies, the military and recreationalists alike are able to ‘body fly’ and, ultimately, perform intricate and ever-more challenging aerobatics.

Storm Marketing Communications helped facilitate the successful opening of this new facility in October 2005, taking on a broad range of responsibilities in a number of key, critical path areas.

This work included delegated responsibility for main contractor direction; preparation of Board and Shareholder reports and presentations and involvement with the PR and marketing campaign. ‘Events’ achieved Advertising Value Equivalent (AVE) over £3m in the first 6 months leading up to and including the opening.

Again demonstrating cross business function support, Storm was also instrumental in the development and running of the recruitment process, the writing of the HR standards, agreeing staff contracts and the preparation of Staff Handbook, Health, Safety and Welfare Policy Statements and accompanying handbooks.
