Reserve Forces and Cadets Association - Greater London

The Reserve Forces and Cadets Association for Greater London is retaining Storm Marketing Communications to provide PR support to the Territorial Army and tri-service cadet forces. Storm’s primary aim is to promote the TA and Cadet force amongst the local and regional press (print, TV, radio and online) which in turn aids recruitment and retention and engages the military with the local community. By focusing on the human-interest angle of the reservists themselves, the London regional and local press routinely run “local boy” stories helping to keep the reserve forces in the public eye.

Storm Marketing Communications regularly attends field training exercises, military competitions, ceremonial events, employer events and medal parades around the region and know the units and Regiments very well. The account is a complex one with many different stakeholders – lots of local papers and newspaper groups in the London area, diverse units and regiments (infantry, logistics, bomb disposal, paras and commandos etc) and differing military chains of command. Effective relationship management is key.

As an example of Storm’s commitment, Sarah is visiting Afghanistan for a week in December 2009 on a media visit with a regional reporter and London Broadcaster to support 256 (City of London) Field Hospital who are London’s reservist medics currently running the hospital in Camp Bastion.
